Anti-Nazis protest at hearing of BNP former teacher

Issue No. 2138

Anti-Nazi protesters held a lively protest outside the General Teaching Council in Birmingham on Tuesday of this week.

Unite Against Fascism (UAF) called the protest at the hearing of Nazi British National Party (BNP) member and former teacher, Adam Walker.

Walker is accused of spreading religious and racial intolerance by posting racist messages on a forum using his school laptop.

Students, NUT, UCU, PCS and NASUWT union members and representatives from the NASUWT executive joined the protest as well as members of the Indian Workers Association.

Walker rushed into the hearing alone, surrounded by police. Anti-fascist campaigners are demanding that Walker is struck off the teaching register.
