The House of Commons Council Housing Group was holding an inquiry at parliament on Wednesday of this week.
It called for evidence to support its key demands.
These include arguing that the government should stop robbing money from tenants’ rents and right to buy receipts, fully fund allowances for the improvement of existing council homes and start a new council house building programme.
Tenants, trade unionists, councillors and others from around the country were to submit evidence and support the inquiry.
