This ambitious adapation of David Peace’s trilogy of novels set in Yorkshire in the 1970s and 1980s is well worth watching.

Red Riding is about police corruption in the county in the 1970s and 1980s. It includes the Yorkshire Ripper murders and a set of child abductions and killings.

David Morrissey, Sean Bean, Maxine Peake, Paddy Considine and Andrew Garfield all star in the three part series.

An interview with David Peace about his novel GB84 and the Miners’ Strike will feature in next week’s Socialist Worker.
