Unite Against Fascism (UAF) is planning a series of regional conferences to help derail the Nazi BNP at this year’s European parliament elections on Thursday 4 June.
The Nazis are targeting several Euro constituencies with the aim of grabbing an MEP seat.
Their targets include North West England, West Midlands, East Midlands and Yorkshire & the Humber.
The Yorkshire & the Humber UAF regional conference is on Saturday 14 March at 2-7 Woodhouse Square, Leeds. Registration starts at 10am.
The UAF rally in West Midlands will take place at 2pm on Saturday 25 April at Carrs Lane Church Centre in Birmingham. Speakers include local MPs Clare Short and John Hemming.
UAF supporters were also busy last weekend spreading the anti-BNP message.
Campaigners went out leafleting in Manchester, where pressure from anti‑fascists succeeded in getting a BNP meeting at Manchester town hall cancelled.
The Nazis had intended to use the meeting to launch their Euro campaign in North West England. Their list in that constituency is headed up by BNP leader Nick Griffin.
