Don’t be fooled by police scare over G20

Issue No. 2141

Campaigners have hit back at police scaremongering tactics over the G20 protests.

Police superintendent David Hartshorn recently described the protests as the highlight of “summer of rage”.

Murray Benham of the World Development Movement said that this is an “ill-considered outburst from the Metropolitan Police”.

Murray added, “Scaremongering from the police will not stop us because the price for failing is too high for the ever-rising numbers of unemployed people in Britain; for people in the developing world who are falling deeper into poverty and for the hundreds of millions of people whose lives could be devastated by the consequences of climate change.”
