East Dulwich

Around 200 people came to a night of music and comedy last Saturday organised by East Dulwich Stop the War in aid of the people of Gaza.

Comic poet John Hegley compered the night, which raised £1,500 for Medical Aid for Palestinians. Prizes were donated by small businesses and generous individuals.

Student activist Fran Legg spoke about the occupations at universities around Britain in support of the Palestinians.

Hackney

Some 320 people crammed into a Stop the War meeting in Hackney on Monday of last week. Speakers included Tony Benn and an activist from the No Bases campaign in the Czech Republic.
