Glasgow parents occupy primary schools to stop closure

by Duncan Brown
Issue No. 2145

Parents of children at Wynford and St Gregory's primary schools in Glasgow have occupied the school buildings to protest over the threatened closure of the schools.

These two schools are in the heart of the Wynford community in the north west of the city. Taking away them will be a massive blow to this working class area..

The occupation, which started on Friday, is part of a campaign against a £3.9 million package of cuts involving closure of 25 schools and nurseries in the city.
