Anger as Yunus Bakhsh sacking upheld

Issue No. 2146

news that the Northumbria, Tyne and Wear NHS Trust has upheld the sacking of nurse and activist Yunus Bakhsh was just breaking as Socialist Worker went to press.

At the time of his initial suspension Yunus argued that there was a racist motivation for the allegations made against him, but Trust bosses denied this.

It has since emerged that the Nazi website Stormfront was involved in gathering information on Yunus in a bid to get him sacked and that one of Yunus’s accusers was a member of several Facebook groups that had become a focus for fascists.

Yunus is determined to continue his fight. He urgently needs donations to help fund his legal case.
