Bus workers meet to discuss pay

Issue No. 2148

Unite union activists from across London bus companies are set to meet on Monday of next week to discuss a campaign for central pay bargaining.

The problems of local pay bargaining and the vastly different rates at different operators across the city was a key theme of the London bus campaign last year.

Unite has highlighted a recent case of 64 drivers at the Selkent company’s Catford garage in south east London.

They have been told that they will have to transfer to Metrobus on lower wages and worse conditions, after the company won the tender for the routes they drive.
