More groups ballot in Glasgow

Community service supervisors employed by Glasgow council are now in their fifth month of indefinite strike action over regrading.

Negotiations on an improved offer were ongoing as Socialist Worker went to press.

Two more ballots are currently underway in Glasgow council.

Social work admin workers are balloting for indefinite strike action over the council’s refusal to award them a payment given to workers who have frontline contact with clients, which is worth up to £600 a year.

Workers in the Unison, GMB and Unite unions in land and environmental services are also balloting for action over changes to working patterns.
