The Glasgow City Council Community Service Supervisors strike has entered its 20th week. On January 21 supervisors began indefinite action in a single status grading dispute.
Strikers were due to hear a report back from recent negotiations with the council on Wednesday of this week.
Elsewhere in the council two ballots are taking place. Some 400 admin workers in social work are balloting over the council’s refusal to make a “work context” payment of approximately £500 a year.
And last week 900 land and environmental services workers attended an angry mass meeting. Some 1,300 members of Unison, GMB and Unite unions are resisting the imposition of new shift patterns by the council.
