Socialist People’s Party stand in Barrow

Issue No. 2153

Candidates for the Socialist People’s Party are out in force in Barrow, Cumbria, campaigning to be elected in the council elections on 4 June.

Daniel Tyson is standing in the Old Barrow ward. “We’ve been getting a really good response from the canvassing in my ward,” he told Socialist Worker. “People are particularly angry about a proposed academy and about the lack of council housing.”

The Socialist People’s Party has three councillors in Barrow and six are standing in the elections this time.

“We’re standing in the main working class areas in Barrow and I think we should get a couple more people elected in June,” says Daniel.
