National Union of Teachers (NUT) branches are starting to nominate candidates for key leadership positions in the union.
In the biennial election of NUT vice-presidents, Socialist Worker is supporting Nina Franklin from Bristol and Ken Cridland from Lancashire for the two posts.
Teachers should make sure that these elections are formally on the agenda of their next local NUT branch meeting so that nominations can be made.
Socialist Worker is also supporting Camden NUT secretary Kevin Courtney for the vital, five-year role of deputy general secretary. This election takes place early next year.
