The fight by former Visteon workers to save their pensions continues. Around 50 people held a protest outside the Visteon headquarters in Chelmsford on Monday of this week.
Visteon workers who transferred from Ford in 2000 were guaranteed Ford terms and conditions for life – including their pension scheme.
But now uncertainty surrounds the future of their pension fund. Protesters at the lobby demanded that Ford takes action to make their pension fund viable.
Dennis Varney is one of those who helped to organise the protest. “We are all long term employees of Ford and Visteon and the companies still owe us,” he told Socialist Worker.
“The national union is being quite vague about any legal challenges it may make over the pensions.
“It is down to us to make Ford listen.”
