Tesco workers vote on relocation

Issue No. 2159

Members of the Unite union at Tesco’s distribution facility in Chepstow in Wales are set to be balloted for industrial action over the company’s decision to relocate them eight miles over the border in Avonmouth, Bristol.

This could threaten the livelihoods of over 750 workers at the depot who will be asked to sign new and inferior contracts or face redundancy.

Tesco has also stated that it will derecognise Unite when it moves its operations to Avonmouth.
