Racists try to march in Birmingham

Issue No. 2159

A group of racist thugs attempted to march through Birmingham city centre last Saturday chanting anti-Muslim slogans.

A group calling itself the English Defence League claimed it had organised the demonstration.

Chants included, “We want our country back” and “no surrender”.

Bystander Zubiar Khan said, “I couldn’t believe they were trying to march in Birmingham. But it was really good to see the response of local people shouting them down.”

The demonstration follows similar “protests” in Luton earlier this year where hundreds of right wing thugs went on the rampage in areas where many Asian families live.
