Print workers press for action

Issue No. 2160

Printers at the Newsfax company and the Guardian Print Centre, who share the same building in Stratford, east London, are set to ballot for action over different issues.

Management at Newsfax, which prints the Financial Times, the Metro, the International Herald Tribune and Socialist Worker, want to cut workers’ pay by between 7.5 percent and 20 percent. Bosses at the Guardian Print Centre want to cut 27 jobs.

The workers, who are members of the Unite union, have launched campaigns against the attacks, and are making links with other unions.
