Leafleting Carphone Warehouse to defend the union

Issue No. 2162

Activists in the CWU union have organised a mass leafleting of the Carphone Warehouse store on Oxford Street, central London, for Saturday of this week.

The action is being taken to let Carphone Warehouse customers know about how the company treats its workers.

Carphone Warehouse has sacked CWU activist Sulinder Kumar and suspended CWU rep Kulwinder Plaha at its site in Wednesbury in the Black Country.

CWU activists say that the workers are being victimised for simply trying to organise a union and defend their colleagues.

Campaigners will meet at the Carphone Warehouse at 4 Oxford Street from 12 noon on Saturday 1 August to leaflet outside.
