The British army charged Lance Corporal Joe Glenton with desertion at the preliminary hearing of his court martial this week.
Joe refused to return to Afghanistan to fight in a war he believes is wrong.
He first spoke out against the war in Socialist Worker last month and has also spoken at Stop the War Coalition meetings.
Joe has been interviewed in much of the rest of the media including on GMTV with his wife Clare.
The army is considering bringing further charges against him for doing this.
Joe remains determined. He plans to call an expert on international law to explain why the war is illegal when his district court martial takes place later this year.
Joe handed in a letter to Gordon Brown last week. He wrote, “The war in Afghanistan is not reducing the terrorist risk, far from improving Afghan lives it is bringing death and devastation to their country.
“I implore you, Sir, to bring our soldiers home.”
With the army turning up the screws on Joe, it is even more vital for anti-war activists to show their support for him.
A further preliminary hearing is to take place on 4 September.
