Defending the union at Carphone Warehouse

by a CWU member
Issue No. 2163

CWU union members and other activists leafleted more than 50 Carphone Warehouse shops across Britain last week.

Their protest was in response to the company’s victimisation of two key union activists, Sulinder Kumar and Kulwinder Plaha.

Both worked at Carphone’s logistics centre in Wednesbury in the West Midlands.

Recently workers have joined the union in large numbers at the site.

Sulinder has been sacked, while Kulwinder has been suspended and faces the threat of the sack.

The union’s campaign needs to be stepped up.
