Youth and community workers for Coventry council last week protested against £360,000 of cuts which will hit some of the most vulnerable young people in the city.

The workers were joined outside the town hall by a coach load of young people and service users who are angry at the possible loss of projects that they are involved in.

Tory-controlled Coventry council has already made £300,000 of cuts – hitting frontline services for children of primary age, after-school clubs and summer play schemes.

This has already led to 40 workers taking retirement, redundancy or redeployment.
