Unofficial walkout hits Dundee

Issue No. 2167

Around 125 postal workers at Dundee East delivery office, in the west of Scotland, walked out unofficially for 24 hours last week after bosses sacked a colleague.

Strikers returned to work following a recommendation from their CWU union.

An appeal against the sacking is scheduled to start this week.

Union rep Willie Lawson said, “We didn’t want people taking unofficial action but staff there were unhappy with the way things are.”
