Student protests in Australia

Issue No. 2169

A student protest movement has exploded across Australia in recent weeks against racist attacks and the collapse of private colleges.

International students, many from India, have faced a wave of attacks in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.

There have been large protests against the attacks across the country, which have also involved Australian and Chinese students.

Students have also suffered as private colleges have gone bust after they have paid thousands of dollars in fees.

This has led to more protests.
