Manchester lecturers out against cuts

Issue No. 2169

Lecturers at Manchester College are set to strike on Thursday of next week against course cuts and redundancies.

The strike is part of an ongoing campaign against the cuts and follows a one-day strike at the end of last month.

Workers are angry that UCU union branch secretary at the college and national executive member David Swanson is among those facing redundancy. This is widely seen as an attack on union organisation.
