Remembering Ekram Haque

by John Clossick
Issue No. 2172

Our friend and comrade Ekram Haque was a man of faith, but also an active socialist and anti-war campaigner in south London.

He was killed outside Church Lane mosque in Tooting, where he was with his young granddaughter.

The national steering committee of Stop the War has sent condolences to his family.

As was said at Ekram’s memorial meeting at the mosque, the best way to honour his memory is to ensure the largest possible turn out on the upcoming Troops out of Afghanistan demonstration.

Ekram was a fighter. We will continue his work.
