Vestas profits up

Issue No. 2176

Vestas, the wind turbine company that sacked 600 workers in the summer, has seen its profits shoot up by 70 percent to £150 million.

Ian Terry, one of the workers who occupied the firm’s Isle of Wight factory in protest, said, “They just used the recession as an excuse to sack us. This is why wind turbine production should be nationalised, not for profit.”
