Who will feel the pinch?

THE GOVERNMENT has also announced plans to end free bus travel for school students.

At the moment, all school students are entitled to free bus travel if they have to travel over three miles.

The government wants to change that so only the very poorest will get free travel.

As with fees, New Labour claims rich families should not be subsidised by other taxpayers.

But high income families will not notice the extra cost of school bus fares.

It is ordinary workers who will feel the pinch of paying out just so their child can get to school.
