The Sun newspaper got it spectacularly wrong when it attacked CWU union deputy general secretary Dave Ward on Monday of this week.
An article claimed that Ward has a “no junk mail” sticker on his letterbox -potentially undermining Royal Mail profits and costing jobs.
It also said that a postal worker pictured in the story delivered to Ward’s house and that she was against the strike.
But Ward has no such sticker. The letterbox was not his, the postal worker named does not cover his house, and the worker in the picture was not the one they quoted.
It’s good to see that the Sun’s standards are as high as ever.
