Residents, families, staff and trade unionists are planning an emergency march this Saturday against the closure of Edwin Arrowsmith House, a care home for the elderly in Handsworth, Birmingham.

The protest is supported by Birmingham TUC and Save Our Services – a wider Unison campaign to fight privatisation and closures.

Birmingham city council has already started to remove residents.

Family member Derek Wilson says, “My mum’s been there six years. She needs constant care and attention. I don’t want her to leave.”

Protest assembles 12 noon, Saturday 28 November, Handsworth Library, Soho Road, Birmingham and marches to Edwin Arrowsmith House. For more details contact 07846 490 408
