Sussex healthcare rep threatened with sack

Issue No. 2179

Zena Dodgson, secretary of Sussex healthcare Unison, has been threatened with the sack by health bosses.

Zena is the elected trade union facilitator for Surrey, Crawley and Horsham hospitals, but bosses are eliminating the post. They want to replace Zena with a union convenor, appointed by them.

The union is fighting for the right to elect its own officers, and Unison has launched an appeal against her dismissal.
