Rent strike win

by Sam Caldwell

STUDENTS AT King's College, Cambridge, have won a victory after a rent strike lasting the whole of this term.

Over 100 students have withheld their rent in protest against projected rises in rent which would have deterred working class students from applying.

Following an agreement reached between students and the college's governing council, rents will be brought into line with those at other universities and the fixed catering charge will be phased out. A clear win for us.
