Stagecoach bus drivers in Rotherham have suspended strike action for talks after staging an angry walkout on Monday of last week in their fight over low pay.
Up to 30 drivers picketed the Rawmarsh depot after rejecting a miserly 1.5 percent pay offer.
The drivers earn just £8.32 an hour.
Anger has also been building up over other issues, including some workers being told they cannot do their job because they are overweight.
Some drivers say they were weighed at the depot after Stagecoach issued a “reminder letter” to all drivers of weight limits set in place by bus manufacturers.
The company claims it is not a new policy.
But drivers say they have never before been required to reveal their weight, or told it could affect their jobs.
Larger drivers have been told they must lose weight within six months, or could face the sack.
