Fujitsu talks continue

Issue No. 2180

Talks are continuing between the Fujitsu Services IT company and the Unite union in an effort to resolve an important dispute about pensions, pay and jobs.

Fujitsu wanted to drive through the closure of its main final salary pension scheme and cut over 1,000 jobs. In response around 1,600 members of the Unite union planned to take three days of strike action last month.

This was called off in return for the extension of the consultation period.

The union reserves the right to call strikes if an agreement acceptable to its members is not reached in the talks.
