Firefighters in Merseyside are balloting for industrial action over planned cuts.
The members of the FBU union are voting on action short of a strike as bosses threaten to slash more than 100 firefighter posts.
Merseyside FBU secretary Les Skarratts said, “There have been relentless cuts to frontline fire services in Merseyside.
“This has already had a real impact on the number of firefighters to crew fire engines and attend 999 emergencies.
“Our ballot is aimed at taking the action needed to protect members from yet another round of cuts.”
