THE CABINET is stuffed with people who paid nothing to study for their degree and had access to a grant. The same hypocrites now want to deny working class children a chance to go to university by imposing tuition fees costing thousands of pounds.

Most working class children are already deterred from going to university. Labour ministers' answer is to charge higher fees and pretend it will help ordinary students.

Fees of £3,000 a year mean nothing to Tony and Cherie Blair. They bought two luxury flats for their eldest when he went to college. Free education was good enough for cabinet ministers. Now they'll make sure their children are alright while kicking the ladder away for the rest of us.
