London rally called against Network Rail job losses

Issue No. 2184

The RMT transport union has called a rally and lobby of parliament on Wednesday 27 January against Network Rail’s plans to axe 1,500 maintenance jobs.

The union is also planning a national ballot of its rail maintenance staff for industrial action.

It has been reported that some of the transport problems caused by the last week’s severe weather conditions have been worsened by a shortage of crew to de-freeze tracks and points.

lRMT’s Cuts Cost Lives lobby, 12.30pm, Wednesday 27 January, Old Palace Yard, opposite the House of Commons, London. Rally at 2.15pm in Committee Room 14
