Afro Modern: Journeys through the Black Atlantic

Issue No. 2185

Inspired by Paul Gilroy’s book The Black Atlantic, this exhibition traces the impact of black Atlantic culture, black artists and intellectuals from the early 20th century to today.

The exhibition maps out visual and cultural mixing in modern and contemporary art that comes from the journeys made by people of black African descent.
