Defend suspended Unite union reps

Issue No. 2185

The Unite union has begun a campaign to defend two suspended shop stewards.

Phil Rose and Maxine Campbell were suspended from Centrepoint in central London, after they acted to prevent the recording of workers by CCTV cameras at a Centrepoint project.

Management have suspended both Phil and Maxine on three counts of gross misconduct.

Unite believes that the action is a result of their effectiveness as trade unionists.

It is urging members to pass resolutions demanding their reinstatement.
