The government has thrown 202,700 people off disability benefits in just over a year, new figures show.
69 percent of those tested in new assessments have been declared “fit to work”.
Two former doctors for private health company Atos, which does the medicals, have spoken out about the “biased” system.
“When doctors go in for the day’s assessments, they pretty much know the clients are going to be turned down,” said one doctor.
Reports weren’t even looked at and there were harsh speed targets, they added.
People with serious illnesses such as cancer are having their benefits cut as a result.
