Bosses suspend union activist

Issue No. 2188

Campaigners are set to protest against the suspension of Unite union activist Alberto Durango by the Lancaster cleaning company at the UBS building in London.

Lancaster, which is owned by Rentokil Initial, sacked Alberto last year after ten years of working for the company.

He then found work with Mitie at UBS bank, but the contract was won by Lancaster.

The company wants to change the workers’ terms and conditions. Alberto’s suspension is the latest attack on cleaners’ right to organise.

Demonstrate: Friday 12 February, 1pm, UBS Capital, 100 Liverpool Street, London EC2M 2RH (Note changed assembly point)
