Over 100 campaigners met in Bilston, West Midlands, last week to launch a campaign to stop the closure of the local postal delivery office.

Management deny the office is facing closure. But the Wolverhampton branch of the CWU postal workers union has obtained “paper work” that indicates that closure of Bilston delivery office is on management’s agenda.

Ironically, the local Labour MP, Pat McFadden, is the minister for the Post Office.

He claims to have had assurances from Royal Mail that no decision has been taken.

Labour Party activists and CWU members argued for a lobby of McFadden’s next surgery meeting over the threatened closure.
