Lecturers at Leeds University have set three days of strike action.

They will strike on Thursday 25 February, Tuesday 2 March and Thursday 4 March.

Workers voted unanimously for the strike plan in a meeting today.

The UCU union members voted for strikes in response to management plans to cut 10 percent from the university's budget and impose compulsory redundancies.

Over 63 percent voted for action in a ballot that won the highest ever turnout for a ballot at the university – of 66 percent.

More workers joined UCU over the course of the ballot, and students are organising support for the action.
