Milford Haven workers suspend strikes

Issue No. 2190

Workers in the Unite union at Milford Haven port in South Wales suspended a strike set for Tuesday of this week.

Around 50 pilots—workers who “pilot” ships into the port—are fighting to defend their pensions.

They suspended action for talks with management.

Their strike could have had a massive impact at the huge oil and gas port.

It could have halted all shipping.

Workers must make sure that their union doesn't compromise on their pension rights – and be prepared to take action if bosses don't back down.
