Labour targets the vulnerable

Labour will end the prisoner early release scheme in April as the election hots up.

The scheme allowed prisoners serving between four months and four years to leave 18 days early.

It excludes those convicted of violent or sexual offences.

Labour is talking “tough” on crime because the general election is looming.

But it is doing nothing to deal with the real problems people face.
