New privatisation threat to nurseries

Issue No. 2190

Ofsted, the schools inspectorate, plans to privatise nursery and childcare inspections in England.

The consultancy firm Tribal Group has already been appointed as “preferred bidder” to take over the checks in the south of England.

Ofsted inspections are already bad enough.

But putting them in the hands of private companies, whose only interest is to make money, will terrify education workers and parents.
