Yunus Bakhsh's employment tribunal begins

Issue No. 2191

Victimised trade unionist and nurse Yunus Bakhsh began an employment tribunal in Newcastle against his bosses on Monday.

The weight of evidence led the tribunal to decree two “reading days” and it agreed to reconvene on Monday 8 March.

Yunus is alleging victimisation on the grounds of trade union activity, plus race and disability discrimination.

He has lost his job, his career and his pension.

Yunus has already received widespread support. Trade union branches and individuals have sent generous donations to a solidarity appeal for him.

We urge readers to send messages of support, rush in donations and to raise the issue in their union branch.

Make donations payable to Defend Yunus Bakhsh Campaign and send to c/o 46c Lawe Rd, South Shields, Tyne & Wear, NE33 2EN
