  • Wednesday
Attended a London Metropolitan University lecturers’ meeting. They agreed to organise support. Students there are organising weekly UAF stalls.
  • Thursday
Fifty students attended University of East London UAF meeting. The president of the Islamic society, student union diversity officer and NUS black student officer all spoke.
  • Friday
Local people joined others from across London to oppose the EDL (see above). Later we took part in a panel after the play Moonfleece at the Rich Mix theatre.
  • Saturday
We ran a student stall in Barking – got a great response from local families. A student joined UAF, and people took away leaflets, posters and voter registration forms. Hundreds signed the petition.
  • Monday
We got a great response on the PCS workers’ picket lines across Barking and Dagenham. We went for a coffee with strikers afterwards to discuss the campaign.

Join the UAF day of action in Barking and Dagenham on Saturday 13 March. Meet at 12 noon at Barking station. There will be a campaign centre with refreshments and transport
