Finnish dockers lead shut down

Issue No. 2192

A dockers’ strike has paralysed large parts of Finnish industry.

The world’s largest magazine paper maker, UPM-Kymmene, announced it had halted almost all production because it lacked crucial supplies and its exports were not getting out.

The dockers’ strike follows action by bus and transport workers that also caused major disruption.
