by Mary Brodbin
Issue No. 2193

John Lister from the Health Emergency group talked to pensioners in London last week about NHS cuts.

He said despite a freeze on NHS spending, the costs of the Private Finance Initiative will rise. He urged people to join the coming march to defend the welfare state.

National Pensioners Convention secretary Dot Gibson talked about the elections. Some said they couldn’t vote Labour. Others said we must not let the Tories in.

Demo to defend the welfare state, Saturday 10 April. Assemble 12 noon, Embankment, London.
