Norwich bus drivers accept pay rise

Issue No. 2194

Bus drivers in Norwich have voted to accept a pay increase of 2.73 percent.

Drivers at First East England will also receive a one off payment of £125 each and pay for rest days will increase to £8. All other terms and conditions are unchanged.

The workers’ Unite union recommended the offer. But 117 still voted against, and 218 to accept.

First Group Plc made a pre-tax profit of over £200 million in 2009.
